Camping in Somerset
For camping in Somerset, take a look at Westermill Farm, a 500 acre traditional working hill farm in the heart of Exmoor National Park. Camp in mown meadows beside the river Exe, in a beautiful, secluded valley. This is camping as it should be - come for the peace and quiet, relax and unwind, bathe or fish (not coarse fishing) in the river and explore the waymarked trails across the farm.
The campsite consists of 15 acres divided into 4 fields, all of which are in the valley and follow the river (one is fenced off). There is a small, seasonal shop with bread, milk, eggs, bacon etc. sourced locally, as well as marshmallows for the campfire! Try some of their home grown free range meat, slowly reared on the grassy hills of Exmoor - beef, lamb and pork, burgers, sausages, bacon and award winning free range Aberdeen Angus beef. You are allowed BBQs as long as they are placed off the ground. so they don't burn the grass.
Facilities include natural spring drinking water, flush loos, free hot showers, payphone, dishwashing area, laundry and Calor gas exchange. Dogs and children are welcome and you can have camp fires (in the fourth field only).
