Farm Holidays in South West England

Farm holidays are perfect for getting away from it all, relaxing and recharging in the stunning scenery of Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and Dorset. A warm and friendly welcome awaits you at our members’ farms, where you’ll find a huge range of accommodation to stay in, from medieval barns steeped in history to family-run caravan and camping sites overlooking the sea. Wander down quiet country lanes and discover quaint self catering country cottages, peaceful retreats, medieval barns, traditional farmhouses, luxury chalets, apartments on Georgian manor estate and even a bed & breakfast in a 13th century former monastery. Many have retained wonderful character features – old beams, exposed stone, slate floors, 4 poster beds and cosy log fires. The farms are all set in the beautiful, unspoilt countryside of Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and Dorset, ideal for a refreshing country break.

Enjoy the everyday traditional life of a working farm; some of the farms have been in the same family for generations, and you could be staying on a 300 acre dairy farm that has been in the family for 5 generations, a 300 year old beef and sheep farm with views of moorland, a hill farm with camping and lodges, a small National Trust farm or even an arable and dairy farm on the Dorset Coast.

As you would expect from a holiday in the country, the views are glorious – of valleys and the sea, lakes and cows, the dramatic landscapes of Exmoor, Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor, gardens and meadows, the choice is endless. You’ll never tire of the beautiful and ever-changing scenery, whatever the season or the weather!

You can do as much or as little as you fancy when you holiday on a farm holiday, but you’ll be sure of an authentic, unique experience. Talk to the farmers about their daily lives, watch lambing in the spring and cows being milked, feed the animals, take a tour in a land-rover across the farm or collect eggs for breakfast. Fish in the lakes or discover local wildlife. Roam the farm, take a woodland walk or explore the South West Coast Path. Staying on a farm will get you closer to nature, and help you learn about where your food comes from and a way of life on your doorstep that you never imagined.

Farms are particularly good for family holidays – children will love to meet the friendly animals and we have some great toddler friendly farm accommodation. They'll have the added benefit of eating delicious home-cooked local produce and learning about what they are eating.

There are many dog friendly farms too, just remember to check with the farmers when you book that it is ok to bring your dogs with you on holiday. If you’d like to bring your horse, some can provide stabling on-site or will be able to help you find stabling nearby. You could even have a riding lesson at one of the riding schools.

All of our farms our independently inspected and you can book directly with the owners, who will be able to help you with any questions you may have. Take a look at our farm holiday selection below and find your perfect escape to the country.
