What You Can Do On A Farm
This really is down to you and what you want.
- You can do nothing or find a quiet and beautiful place to read, write, sketch or paint.
- You can walk for miles off road often straight from the farm gate and not see another soul. Many farms are close to the coastal path which you can access easily.
- You can talk to the farmer and learn how he/she sees things and what matters to them.
- You can walk to the village pub and not worry about the car. You can also walk back but don’t forget to take a torch.
- The variety of activities on site can often exceed expectations. You can get up early and watch the milking or go out with the farmer and help with the lambing in the springtime. Collect eggs for breakfast. There are pony rides, animal feeding plus a lot for the children to do - picnics, playing in rivers and steams, trampolining, hide and seek, making a den.
- Fishing is an activity which many farm offer with private river access or from the lakes on site.
- Visit a farmers market - these are often quite local and take place on a set day every month.
