Self Catering in Somerset

Self catering holidays in Somerset are a great way to escape, relax and unwind. We have a range of really unique breaks for you to choose from...

A truly historic experience
The Ancient Barn and Old Stables at Lower Cockhill date back to the 15th and 17th centuries respectively and have been lovingly restored by the current owners. All of the buildings here are part of a very special ancient settlement near Castle Cary, and are surrounded by peaceful countryside and an abundance of wildlife such as deer, badgers foxes and owls - you may even be lucky enough to see kingfishers on the babbling stream just outside. If you are interested in history and architecture, do ask for a tour of the main house too - it is absolutely amazing!   theancientbarn.png

Sleeping 8 (plus 3 on put up beds), this spacious ranch-syle log cabin wouldn't look out of place in the Canadian Rockies, and is ideal for families and groups of friends on a self catering holiday. Riscombe Farm is a 300 year old farm beside the river Exe where stone barns have been thoughtfully converted into four cosy cottages. Meet the friendly farm animals or stroll in the riverside meadow and woods. Incredibly pet friendly self catering accommodation - bring up to 4 dogs, stabling available for horses, other types of pets very welcome.  Westermill Farm is a traditional family-run 500 acre working hill farm with six delightful Scandinavian-style cottages on the side of a beautiful valley near the river Exe. Explore the farm, paddle or fish in the shallow, sparkling river, watch the farm animals and for an extra treat while you are self catering, why not try Westermill sausages and meat from their farm shop. Put your feet up at the end of the day and relax in front of the cosy woodburner.
