Explore the cobbled streets lined with quaint shops in the old village around the harbour and watch the trawlers bring in their day’s catch. For those who enjoy the outdoors, sunbathers can bask on the safe and clean beach at East Looe.  Alternatively take a boat trip out to explore the bay and visit the mystical and unspoilt Looe Island, owned by the Aitkin sisters and home to some breathtaking scenery and an array of wildlife.

Back on land, the hi-tech South East Cornwall discovery centre is worth a stop too as they have detailed information about Looe’s heritage and also information on local attractions and events. As an important fishing port, Looe has its own fish market on the quayside in East Looe - here is where the hub of activity occurs during the fish auctions.

This also means that in many of the local restaurants delicious fresh fish is always on the menu. Eating in Looe you will find a great choice from a traditional Cornish Pasty to a gourmet meal.
