Bovisand Lodge was built for Joseph Whidbey, Superintendent Engineer who oversaw the 30 year construction of the great Plymouth Breakwater.

Bovisand Lodge Apartments are spacious, stylishly furnished and have their own private terrace area. Rodney is our ground floor, open plan apartment which sleeps 2 in a kingsize double bed (plus 1 on a sofabed), Whidbey is our fabulous first floor apartment with sea view and sleeps 3 (in one king size double and a 3ft single or double sofabed) and Rennie is our stunning top floor apartment with high beamed ceilings, sea views and sleeps 3/4 (in one king size double, one 4ft bed or double sofabed).

Take a dip in our magnificent indoor heated swimming pool (open all year round) and explore the surrounding grounds. Staddon Heights Golf course is nearby if you fancy a game of golf, riding can be organised in the nearby village of Wembury and the Mount Batten Centre is just 5 minutes away for almost any watersport.

Bovisand Lodge Apartments are situated in an unspoilt wooded valley running down from the hills of Staddon Heights, the grounds open onto a safe sandy beach facing Plymouth Breakwater and the Cornish coast. Relax and enjoy easy walks and breathtaking views on our part of the South West Coast Path.

Peace and tranquility awaits you at the Bovisand Lodge Apartments, but if you fancy a lively day trip or night out, we are only seven miles from Plymouth City Centre. For a different way to travel, you can take a 4 minute water taxi ride from the Mount Batten Centre to the Barbican in Plymouth.
