Grand Pier Cider Festival
2 – 3 July 2016
The legendary Grand Pier at Weston-super-Mare is always a great day out in itself, but if you love cider then this is definitely the place to be on the first weekend in July. The venue has teamed up with Thatchers to bring together the best in local cider all in one place, with live music from the likes of the Cherry Pickers, Somerset Paddies and Rustique to add to the festivities.
Teddy Bear Picnic at Avon Valley Railway

This fun teddy bear themed day out is perfect for little ones, with a range of activities including arts and crafts, balloon modelling, a Punch and Judy show and a teddy bear hunt with a small prize for anyone who completes it. Picnic lunches are be available to buy on the day, and any child who brings a teddy bear along will travel free of charge on both the steam and diesel hauled trains.
Make Your Own Cricket Set at Tyntesfield

Cricket fans will love the opportunity to create their own bat, stumps and bails at this special workshop event at the National Trust’s Tyntesfield estate. Using ash from the surrounding park land, and with tuition from the North Somerset Bodgers, you can learn new skills and create something special to take home with you. The day includes refreshments plus all materials and use of tools – but tickets are limited, so book quickly!
World War One Assault Course at Dunster Castle

Think you would have had what it takes to make it as a WW1 soldier? Time to find out! Suitable for both adults and children, the military assault course at Dunster Castle will give you a taste of what the WW1 soldiers had to go through in training. Plenty of fun for anyone brave enough to take up the challenge.
Togas & Tunics at the Roman Baths

Find out how the Romans used to live with a trip to the historical Roman Baths. On this special activity day, kids will have so much fun dressing up and pretending to be Romans, they probably won’t realise that they’re learning loads as they enjoy a day out!
Taunton Live Performing & Creative Arts Festival

This is a must see event for anyone who loves the arts, with highlights including a ‘Paintathon’, young poets competition and Taunton’s first art market. You can enjoy entertainment in the form of live music, poetry readings and unique street performances, plus there will be workshops for adults and children, ranging from knitting and painting to printing and photography.
Best Foot Forward at the Fashion Museum

Creative children will love having the chance to design their own shoes and help decorate the Fashion Floor at Bath’s Fashion Museum this summer. The event is included in the ticket price and there’s no need to book, so all you need to do is show up on the day and unleash your stylish side!

Looking for an action packed day out with edge-of-your-seat thrills? Don’t miss Scott May’s Daredevil Stunt Show, Europe‘s largest independent touring stunt show, which will be performing at Brean Leisure Park this month. The hair-raising stunts – featuring cars, bikes, trucks, tractors and even buses – will captivate audiences of all ages, and the park will also be open so you can make the most of a full day of family fun.
