Higher Lank Farm is exclusively for families with young children. A warm welcome awaits you at our working beef and poultry farm in Cornwall, where Lucy and Andrew Finnemore offer self catering holidays.

Holidays begin with a tractor and trailer ride to meet the cows and calves. Climb aboard the trailer to meet and feed the Higher Lank Farm herd, and say hello to Baloo the bull.

This is followed by a delicious Cornish family high tea in the farmhouse, and an opportunity to meet the Finnemore family and the other guests.  Only six families can stay at one time at Higher Lank Farm, so farmers Andrew and Lucy have plenty of time to spend with you and your young farmers.

Morning farming activities include bottle feeding the lambs, feeding the pigs and goats, and looking after chicks, ducks, hens, geese and guinea fowl and of course collecting lots of eggs!

Twice a week it’s time to groom the ponies, followed by either a pony or pony and trap ride.

Feeling lazy? You don’t need to leave Higher Lank Farm, there is so much for little people to do, from the wonderful farm themed playground with mini tractors to drive, the sand barn with dumpers and diggers, to the big play tractor to climb and drive with it’s trailer slide.

Inside the main farmhouse and in each self catering cottage there are heaps of toys to play with too. And you can visit the farm animals whenever you wish.

Humpty Dumpty Cottage is especially designed to cater for families with twins, triplets and up to six children, whilst Bo Peep Cottage caters for families bringing Granny and Grandpa too.

Our beautiful 15th century farmhouse has been completely renovated with our young visitors in mind. We can have three family rooms, each slightly different so there is sure to be one that suits your family. Breakfast is served in our granite-walled dining room, and there’s a child friendly guest lounge and baby kitchen with fridge, lots of storage and a microwave for warming baby feeds.

If you are not able stay for a week there are 4 night special breaks especially designed to enable guests to experience all Higher Lank Farm has to offer in the main farmhouse. Breakfast and dinner are included in the price.

Whether self catering or staying in the main farmhouse it is possible to have nursery teas and evening meals cooked for you by Lucy, several times each week.  The emphasis is on delicious food made from fresh local ingredients, with meat and eggs from the farm. All meals are prepared from scratch, and allergy friendly cooking has become a speciality.

Higher Lank Farm is dedicated to families with young children. Holidays on this working farm offer a real hands-on experience. Take a ride on a tractor or pony trap, feed the animals, and enjoy tea with the farmer – including homemade gluten-free and dairy-free cakes if required.
