Farm holidays
Farm holidays are perfect for getting away from it all, relaxing and recharging in the stunning scenery of Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and Dorset.
Family-run farm holidays
All of our farm holidays are on real working farms, independently owned and run by families who live on the farm. They’ll give you a warm and friendly welcome and a very unique holiday!
Some of these farms have been in the same family for generations, many are steeped in history and some were even recorded in the Domesday Book. You could find yourself staying in a 13th century farmhouse, a 15th century hall house or simply beautifully converted barns and other farm buildings full of character – think old beams, exposed stone, slate floors, 4 poster beds and cosy log fires. And while the buildings may be historic, they’ll be sure to have all the mod cons you need for a comfortable stay.
Gorgeous locations
All the farms are set in the beautiful, unspoilt countryside of Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and Dorset, ideal for a refreshing farm holiday. As you would expect from a holiday in the country, the views are glorious – of valleys and the sea, lakes and rivers, the dramatic landscapes of Exmoor, Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor, gardens and meadows, the choice is endless. You’ll never tire of the beautiful and ever-changing scenery, whatever the season or the weather!
Learn about life on a working farm
You can do as much or as little as you fancy when you go on a farm holiday, but you’ll be sure of an authentic, unique experience. Talk to the farmers about their daily lives, watch lambing in the spring and cows being milked, feed the animals, take a tour in a land-rover across the farm or collect eggs for breakfast. Fish in the lakes or discover local wildlife. Roam the farm, take a woodland walk or explore the South West Coast Path. Staying on a farm will get you closer to nature, and help you learn about where your food comes from and a way of life on your doorstep that you never imagined.
Great for children
Farm holidays are particularly good for families – children will love to meet the friendly animals and we have some great toddler friendly farm accommodation. They’ll have the added benefit of eating delicious home-cooked local produce and learning about what they are eating.
Dog friendly farm holidays
There are many dog friendly farms too, just remember to check with the farmers when you book that it is ok to bring your dogs with you on holiday, particularly if they have farm animals.
Farms with stabling or horse-riding
If you’d like to bring your horse, some farms can provide stabling on-site or will be able to help you find stabling nearby. You could even have a riding lesson at one of the riding schools.
All of our farms our independently inspected and you can book directly with the owners, who will be able to help you with any questions you may have.
